New York City, New York Jan 26, 2023 (Issuewire.com)  - Dr. Reid is a Senior Pediatric Radiologist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), where she serves as an attending physician & Vice Chair of Education in the Department of Radiology. She holds the Patricia Borns Endowed Chair in Radiology Education and is a go-to consultant for the Complex Vascular Anomalies Frontier Program. 

An expert in complex fetal MRI, her areas of clinical expertise are pediatric cancer, as well as body and musculoskeletal imaging.

Among her academic appointments, she serves as a Professor of Clinical Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. 

In Canada, Dr. Reid graduated with her medical degree from the Queen’s School of Medicine in 1987. She then went on to perform her internship and residency in family practice at Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s Canada, and an additional residency in diagnostic radiology at Victoria Hospital.

For her fellowship training, she studied pediatric radiology at Boston Children’s Hospital and then served as a junior staff radiologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Holding a Master of Medical Sciences in Medical Education from the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Reid is the Principal Investigator for a Machine Learning-based Precision Education platform to support adaptive learning in pediatric radiology. Her current project is combining experience in mentoring and faculty development to start a nationwide consulting business for early professional career development.   

Board-certified in both pediatric radiology and diagnostic radiology, she is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The ABR is a not-for-profit physician-led organization that oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.

Among her editorial positions, Dr. Reid is a reviewer for Pediatric Emergency Care (2012 - present), a reviewer for the Journal of Imaging Science (2009 - present), an editorial board member of Pediatric Radiology (2005 - present), a reviewer for the American Journal of Roentgenology (2004 - present), and a reviewer for Pediatric Radiology (2003 - present).

Pediatric radiology is a subspecialty of radiology involving the imaging of fetuses, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. Many pediatric radiologists practice at children’s hospitals.
