Jason Lee, DMSc, PA-C, is a doctorally trained Physician Assistant and board-certified orthopedic specialist who has been recognized by America’s Best in Medicine for his leadership in musculoskeletal care and his contributions to Advanced Practice Provider education and training.
Dr. Lee serves as Director of Advanced Practice Providers and APP Residency Director at Direct Orthopedic Care, one of a limited number of organizations in the country with a dedicated orthopedic postgraduate residency for Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners. Now in its sixth year, the program has trained more than 40 clinicians who have gone on to practice as musculoskeletal specialists, helping to expand access to orthopedic care in communities across the country.
In clinical practice, Dr. Lee focuses on sports injuries, fracture care, joint degeneration, and overuse conditions. His approach centers on restoring mobility and getting patients back to the activities they care about most, whether that is returning to work, competing in athletics, or moving through the day without pain.
Beyond his own practice, Dr. Lee is a frequent speaker and an active voice in conversations about the future of the PA profession. His topics range from orthopedic and musculoskeletal medicine to early practice transition for new graduates, leadership and mentorship for APPs, and practice building and business strategy. He works with APP programs and groups around the country, bringing a perspective shaped by both clinical experience and organizational leadership.

Dr. Lee presents at regional and national conferences on orthopedic and musculoskeletal topics and also works as an adjunct professor and guest lecturer. He serves on the Continuing Medical Education Committee for the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants (TAPA), contributing to educational programming for practicing PAs across the state. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Associates and a Fellow of the Academy of Doctoral PAs. He has authored multiple published works, including articles and continuing medical education content in musculoskeletal medicine.
Dr. Lee earned undergraduate degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and Central Michigan University, then completed his Master of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He later earned his Doctor of Medical Science degree from the University of Lynchburg, along with doctoral certificates in Executive Leadership and Healthcare Administration and Management.
Through his clinical work, leadership, and contributions to education, Dr. Lee continues to advocate for team-based care and the growing role of Advanced Practice Providers in modern healthcare.
Outside of medicine, Jason enjoys spending time with his family, volunteering in his community, reading, and staying active: all interests that reflect his belief in lifelong learning and service both inside and outside the clinic.
