In addition to seeing patients at his private practice, he is an attending physician at Degraff Memorial Hospital and Kenmore Mercy Hospital. He is also a Clinical Instructor of the Physician Assistant Program at D’Youville College, a position he has held since 1994.

Academically, Dr. Abialmouna graduated with his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in 1983. He then went on to perform his residency in internal medicine at Trenton Hospital from 1986 until 1989, and pursued a fellowship in rheumatology at the State University of New York at Buffalo from 1989 until 1992.

Upon embarking on his medical career, he served as the Medical Director of Tremont Medical, PC (1996 - 1997) and as the Medical Director of North Tonawanda School District (1996 - 1997). He also worked at Ken-Ton Family Care Center (1993 - 1996), Geneva B. Scruggs CHCC (1992 - 1996), and served as a house physician at Martha Washington Hospital (1984 - 1986).

In good standing with a number of professional organizations, Dr. Abialmouna is an active member of the New York State Medical Society, the Erie County Medical Society, the American College of Rheumatology, and Catholic Medical Partners.

Raising awareness through his charity work, he has been involved with the Beit Al-Yateem Orphanage in Lebanon since 2010, serving as an active benefactor for the annual benefit held locally to raise funds. He has also been working 10-12 hours weekly for 4 weeks every summer since 2004, practicing internal medicine and rheumatology at a Community Clinic in Lebanon; and has been an active member of the Buffalo Lebanese Church and Community since 1989, helping new immigrants get established. 

Rheumatology is a branch of medicine devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic diseases. Physicians who have undergone formal training in rheumatology are called rheumatologists. Rheumatologists treat arthritis, autoimmune diseases, and osteoporosis. There are more than 200 types of these diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, lupus, back pain, osteoporosis, and tendonitis.

As a testament to his success, Dr. Abialmouna has been the recipient of various awards and honors, including NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home Recognized Level 3 since 2011; Meaningful Use Certified Stage 1 since 2009 / Stage 2 attested for in January 2015; IPRO - Cardiac Population Health Initiative Recognition (2011 - present); and Resident of the Year PCY-3 in 1988 - 1989, Sister Hyacinthia Program for Home-Bound.
