Portland, Oregon Apr 30, 2024 (Issuewire.com) - "Keep it Cute," a grassroots organization dedicated to fostering safer and more supportive communities through education and empowerment, is delighted/proud to announce its official incorporation as a 501(c)3 nonprofit in the state of Oregon. Guided by the mission to promote mental health awareness, consent education, harm reduction, and the alchemization of trauma through creativity and community events, Keep it Cute has been serving and uplifting communities on the west coast for the past three years.
As part of its commitment to creating a more compassionate world, Keep it Cute has been establishing safe spaces that facilitate physical and mental well-being at music and art festivals, as well as local gatherings. One of its hallmark initiatives, “Nook Safe Space," provides a cozy haven for individuals in need of anything from earplugs, electrolytes, and string cheese to human connection and emotional support. Moreover, the organization distributes "Nook Boxes" filled with supplies and resources that support safe, harmonious experiences, thereby extending the reach of The Nook's helping hand to those in need.
In addition to these initiatives, Keep it Cute hosts a monthly gathering featuring local artists, makers, and musicians at Manifestation maker space in Portland to serve a platform for creative expression and community building. Through its contribution to these events, Keep it Cute aims to foster connections, enhance joy, and promote healing in a nurturing environment.
Based in Portland, Oregon, Nook Safe Space has travelled to support events in four states (California, Oregon, Washington, and Nevada), including Burning Man, Desert Hearts Festival, Window Seat Situation, Shift Festival,Tropical, Secret Grove, and Mount Tabor Dance Community. Through its strong online presence on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, Keep it Cute has carved out a virtual Nook Safe Space that serves as a hub for nearly 800 individuals (and growing!) around the globe to provide emotional support and solidarity to one another.
"Our journey as a nonprofit reflects our deep-rooted commitment to uplifting individuals and communities through empathy, creativity, and collaboration," remarked McKenzie, Founder, President, and Chief Visionary Officer of Keep it Cute Inc. "With our newfound nonprofit status, we look forward to expanding our reach and deepening our impact, one smile, one connection at a time."
In its next chapter, Keep it Cute is committed to expanding its reach and impact through content creation. Examples include curricula developed to reach all ages that focus on topics such as compassionate communication, boundary setting, and other aspects of emotional intelligence in addition to educational materials that empower individuals to cultivate empathy, resilience, and meaningful connections within their communities.
As Keep it Cute embarks on this exciting new chapter, the organization invites community members, volunteers, and supporters to join hands in spreading warmth and human connection throughout Oregon and beyond.
