Subang Jaya, Selangor Dec 13, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - Malaysia’s first on-demand shuttle bus hailing app Kumpool is being prepared to go live on 15th December 2021 with an RM1 flat rate.
Kumpool combines the technological experience of ride-hailing with public transport, enabling demand responsive transport service for effective and viable first and last-mile connectivity. Designed around zones, passengers book a ride on the app and are matched to a suitable vehicle which are typically larger capacity vehicles such as 16-seater vans. Multiple passengers are pooled on trips that are routed by the algorithm to optimize pick-up and travel time. This algorithm enables more efficient movement of passengers and replaces the traditional fixed-route, timetabled nature of public transport.
With average fare rates being 40% lower compared to conventional ride-hailing services and without surge pricing, it will serve a large group of the population by enabling economical and convenient car-less travel within a neighborhood and connecting people to traditional public transport services.
With Subang Jaya being chosen as the pilot launch area, Kumpool is designed to integrate with and boost public transport usage. On-demand shared rides in people movers such as vans and buses reduce traffic congestion and lower travel costs. Just as importantly, this contributes to the reduction of carbon emissions as Malaysia moves toward net-zero targets.
The Kumpool app operates from 8 am-8 pm daily. Additionally, the app allows you to schedule a ride and track the vehicle on the go. With a flat rate of RM1, you can now travel around Bandar Sunway, Subang Jaya, and USJ with ease.
