Mumbai, Maharashtra Feb 13, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - LICO Materials Private Limited participated in a webinar organized by EVReporter.com to discuss India's upstream and midstream capabilities for the Lithium-ion cell supply chain.
Highlighting the overall sustainable technology and approach towards Lithium-ion batteries, Mr. Gaurav Dolwani, the CEO of LICO Materials Private Limited, shared his views on LICO's technology on how it builds the value chain related to material recovery from used batteries, coupled with the transportation of batteries, challenges with raw material collection process, and the future growth.
Industry experts from companies such as Nsure Reliable Power Solutions, NOMURA research institute, and, JLNPhenix Energy, shared their valuable insights in the field of EV battery recycling. The speakers addressed various topics related to the industry, including its challenges and future developments.
The electric vehicle (EV) industry heavily relies on lithium-ion batteries because of their high energy density, low self-discharge rate, and long cycle life. As the electric vehicle industry continues to grow, the demand for lithium-ion batteries is expected to increase. LICO's battery recycling technology, process, and approach to material recovery from used batteries is an effort to meet this demand.
According to the study by ICCT (The International Council on Clean Transportation), by 2035, India will need approximately 3,400-gigawatt hours (GWh) of lithium-ion batteries. LICO Materials Private Limited is one of the few recycling companies in India that has developed its own technology for recycling lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries which would help to create a sustainable circular economy solution and would restore critical materials.
Highlighting the sustainable environment, Mr. Gaurav Dolwani, CEO at LICO Materials Private Limited believes and states, "Let's work together to help the environment by recycling used batteries. Recycling used batteries would help us to conserve the raw materials used to produce lithium-ion batteries. Our process at LICO would help close the demand and supply gap for lithium-ion batteries. We all need to do our part to save the environment! Let's take action and work together to make a difference!"
Reducing the dependency on imported recycled materials is crucial to sustaining the recycling industry, and LICO is making efforts to achieve these goals. The webinar was quite insightful and guided by industry leaders
