Perry Hall, Maryland Oct 29, 2018 (Issuewire.com) - Thankful Paws recently celebrated seven years of charitable work in Maryland. In those seven years, they have delivered over 3 million meals (over 70 tons of pet food and supplies) to low-income people to help them keep their pets. Thankful Paws originally started as a food bank, but in recent years has expanded its scope of work to include, educational programming for schools, lectures/presentations for businesses and universities, and therapy dogs to promote Animal Assisted Interventions through exploring the Human-Animal Bond.
Most recently, Hero the eleven-year-old golden retriever who was the inspiration for the founding of the charity, is the subject of a new children’s book, Hero the Golden. (available on Amazon) The book is a compilation of true stories that happened to Hero during his life as a therapy dog, and business dog. The book is the first in a series of children’s book that will convey a moral lesson. This book’s lesson is learning to discover your personal importance and value.

Thankful Paws needs financial donations, sponsorship to continue its work of delivering pet food, education and pet therapy. We are planning to launch a first-ever pilot study to validate the data and needs of pet food banks nationally. Thankful Paws is also writing the first-ever certification for all those who wish to volunteer at a pet food bank. Thankful Paws' founder, Lynn Molnar has taught at Johns Hopkins University and regularly conducts presentations there to foster the Human-Animal Bond in the medical professions.
