Who is James Marciano?

James aka ROCKY J was born on August 23rd,1996 in Staten Island, N.Y. Currently, he resides in Tampa, Florida. Coming from an Italian catholic background he received his education through a Catholic school until the eighth grade. Here is where he learned many of the values of life and hard work, which have become so important to his career today. He continued his education by going to Susan E. Wagner high school in Staten Island, New York.

Giving back to the community! 

While James devotes most of his time to his career, he has never forgotten to give back to his community. He often visits local shelters to provide free haircuts for the less fortunate. James also spends some of his time going to youth detention centers to mentor and inspire the youth. He provides them with free haircuts for a motivational conversation. 

Entrepreneurship 

Mr. Marciano has always been business minded.  James’ grandfather, who once had two successful businesses in New York City, is his biggest inspiration. James never liked the idea of working for someone else. At the age of 24, James followed through with his dream of owning a barbershop naming it “VIP Barber Lounge” Located in the Tampa Bay Area. Along the way, he has networked himself gaining clients such as Ron Suno, BOGOD, Aaron Carter, Checkthestar, hustlemantherapper & skinnyfromthe9. He is known as a celebrity barber. 

Future Plans! 

ROCKY J has always had a passion for the barbering industry. He enjoys what he does and wouldn’t change it for the world, but James believes that barbering is the foundation of what he really wants to do…. Music! By networking with High-end clientele, he wants to focus more on his music side of him. He wants to work on his craft & one day impact the world! Back in 2019 he got connected with Skinnyfromthe9 and they collaborated on two tracks called “Halo” & “Rockstar & I roll”. In 2020 he caught the attention of the late Arron Carter, and the two became friends. In 2021 ROCKY J caught the attention of the SBL Labels Ron Suno & BOGOD by gaining them as his clients . ROCKY J Only released two songs in 2022. He is currently working on new music along with an EP expected to be released in late 2023.
