Interviewer: Do you regret leaving your hometown, do you believe that moving to Atlanta was the right move for you?
Traci Augustine: No, I don’t regret leaving because I feel like for me where I am from, it is a trap and if I would have stayed ... I wouldn’t have accomplished what I set out to do. Being in Atlanta has opened many doors and led to great opportunities.
Interviewer: Where does your inspiration come from?
Traci Augustine: My inspiration comes from life. Whether it is mine or someone else’s. There is a story that needs to be told or a person without a voice. I want to tell that story or be that voice.
Interviewer: What would you say has been your worst life experience?
Traci Augustine: The death of my high school friend. After graduating from high school, we decided to pursue music together, but he ended up going into the military. He got an honorable discharge and shortly after that, he became sick and passed away. For a short time, I stopped doing music and I had no desire to sing anymore. One night, he spoke to me in a dream and it gave me my inspiration back. He did not want me to give up on my music career.
Interviewer: What would be the ultimate goal for you in your career?
Traci Augustine: To become financially stable enough to be able to make sure that my family will never have to experience what I experienced growing up and of course, Grammys!
