Michael Lester McCord Releases Transformative Memoir: One Step at a Time: Memoir of a Former Quadriplegic

Michael Lester McCord’s memoir, One Step at a Time, chronicles his journey from quadriplegia to climbing mountains, inspiring readers with resilience, faith, and the power of the human spirit.

Olathe, Kansas Mar 25, 2025 (Issuewire.com)  - Author Michael Lester McCord, in his autobiography, One Step at a Time: Memoir of a Former Quadriplegic, gives an ode to the human spirit and resilience. In this deeply personal story of survival, faith, and the unyielding pursuit of wholeness, the author chronicles his extraordinary journey from quadriplegia to climbing mountains.

McCord's life took a dramatic turn in February 2001 when he suffered a spinal cord injury, leaving him a low-functioning Level C quadriplegic with only a 10% chance of ever walking again. Within 30 months of the accident, he faced job loss, a divorce, and an uncertain future. Yet, against all odds, he defied expectations and climbed Mt. Elbert, the highest peak in the Rocky Mountains.

His memoir offers readers a roadmap for overcoming adversity through faith, belief, and action, a philosophy reflected in every book he signs: "Through faith, belief, and action, all things are possible. Never give up on your dreams."

McCord's memoir took him six years to complete and required him to relive painful memories, making the writing process as challenging as his physical recovery. However, he persevered, believing that his story held valuable lessons for others facing life's hardships.

Combining scientific principles and spiritual truths, One Step at a Time explores the profound connection between mind, body, and spirit, demonstrating the limitless possibilities of human potential.
