Back in the early days of her academic career, Dr. Choudhri completed her undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She obtained her medical degree from the Ross University School of Medicine in 2002. She then went on to complete one year of training in general surgery and a residency in physical medicine & rehabilitation at the State University of New York at Buffalo where she was elected Chief Resident. After completing her residency, she served as faculty at the State University of New York at Buffalo and was a staff physician within the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Erie County Medical Center.
Subsequently, Dr. Choudhri partnered with a Harvard pain fellow in an interventional pain management practice in the greater Washington D.C. area for two years. During her tenure there, she served as a Co-Director in the Department of Pain Management at Washington Adventist Hospital. She returned to Houston in 2009.
Partnering with her patients to live healthy and pain-free lives, she is board-certified in pain medicine by the American Board of Pain Medicine, whose mission is to improve the quality of pain medicine. Likewise, she is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, whose mission is to serve the public by improving the quality of patient care in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
To advance her professional efforts, Dr. Choudhri remains a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Physiatrists, the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
