MREC the World's First Collaboration Center to launch at MWC 2023

The Metaverse Research and Experience Center (MREC) will serve as a center for research and development, industrial collaboration, and capacity building in the field of metaverse technology.

Barcelona, Spain Mar 10, 2023 (Issuewire.com)  - The Indonesia Metaverse Collaboration Initiative was officially launched, this coincided with the announcement of the Metaverse Research & Experience Center (MREC) on 1st of March, 2023 at the Mobile World Congress 2023 in Barcelona. MREC is a public-private partnership that aims to promote collaboration, research, innovation, and development in the field of metaverse technology.

The launch event was attended by delegates from various leading companies, including the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Spain, GSMA, KOMINFO, Telkom University, Telkom Group, Telkomsel, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, XL AXIATA, Alita, Techbros, META and Telecom Infra Project (TIP).

The Metaverse Research and Experience Center (MREC), located in the heart of the Telkom University campus area, will serve as a center for research and development, industrial collaboration, and capacity building in the field of metaverse technology. MREC will provide facilities and tools to support collaboration and networking among academics, researchers, connectivity service providers, industry alliances, and policymakers.

With this new research center, Indonesia is well-positioned to be a leading role in the development of the metaverse to support the growth and success of this emerging industry.
