London, United Kingdom Nov 9, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - Food and beverage company Nestlé has announced they are discontinuing the production of their caramel bar Caramac. The company has confirmed they are stopping the production as the sales of the product have decreased over the years. They have stated it was ‘a difficult decision’ for them to take.
This particular caramel bar was launched 64 years ago. At the time of the launch, this product received a lot of positive response. The sales rate also has been quite high all these years. Its attractive red and yellow wrapper made the caramel bar even better. Right after the launch, many other chocolate manufacturing companies started making their ‘blonde’ chocolates.
After the announcement, many people have shared their opinion. On X, a user has said that the news has ‘ruined my day’. On the other hand, another person has stated ‘Rest in peace Caramac’. Many people are quite disappointed after the news. But a few have said things like ‘Didn't realise they were still around, not seen one for years’.
A bakery from Scotland uses this caramel bar in their pastries and this announcement has become a ‘sad day’ for them. They have also said that as the company is discontinuing the making, then people will stock it up as much as possible. They have also said ‘It's been cancelled so I bought as many boxes as I could! They should last a while (I hope) but once they are gone, there will be no more Caramac eclairs!’
While making the announcement, Nestlé also stated ‘We know fans will be disappointed to see it go, but this change will enable us to focus on our best-performing brands, as well as develop exciting new innovations to delight consumers' taste buds’. Therefore, it can be said that the company would surely work on things that would be enough to fill this void.
This post of Nestlé has gotten more than 3000 comments. And it is very clear how people have loved this particular product. One has also said they should start a petition for not discontinuing the product. Perhaps, in the future, Nestlé would come up with new things to compensate for their customers.
