Los Angeles, California Apr 19, 2018 (Issuewire.com) - Most French actors dream of working in Hollywood, Judi Beecher, award-winning actress’s goal was to work in France. Judi is a New York theatrically trained actress with a long list of film and TV credits. She trained with a founder of the Actors Studio, Bobby Lewis, as well as other acting greats such as Uta Hagen, Stella Adler, Elaine Stritch, Bill Hickey and Larry Moss. Judi’s comedic acting chops, dual nationality, and fluency in French paid off, and her dream came true when she landed a role in Dany Boon's “La Ch’tite Famille”(Family is Family) produced by Pathe, where she plays the role of Kate Fischer, daughter of the CEO of the Sofitel Hotel chain.
The film opened in theaters in France last month to the most successful weekend box-office opening of the past ten years. Its lead actor, writer, and director, Dany Boon, also received Best Actor, at this years Cesar Awards. "Family is Family," is premiering in the United States at the Cocoa Film Festival in Los Angeles, next Tuesday, April 24th. Judi will be in attendance.
Judi is also starring in the upcoming comedy “Tango Shalom.” where she plays Rachel, the wife of a Chassidic Rabbi, who gets a calling from G-d to dance the Tango. The film also stars Renee Taylor (The Nanny), Lainie Kazan (My Big Fat Greek Wedding), Karina Smirnoff (Dancing with the Stars) and Joe Bologna’s (Big Daddy, My Favorite Year) in his last acting role. The film is directed by Gabe Bologna and produced by Joel Zwick. Tango Shalom is currently in post-production with a 2019 release.
