Toronto, Ontario Sep 3, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - Newby is back with visuals to ‘The Boy’, which is one of the six songs from his EP, ‘Bishonen; Monkey Business’. His EP, was released in February 2021 along with Baked, Followed by ‘Take out’. His creativity speaks for itself in each video, as he is the director, producer, editor, and all! His inspiration comes from Anime, Art, Food and 90’s themed nostalgia, just to name a few. Newby has managed to pull from what has inspired him, and implements it into his works, such as he does in his new music video ‘The Boy’.
‘The Boy’ has themes of the 90’s teen movie ‘She’s All That’. The beginning of the video starts off with Newby alone in the bathroom of his high school. The font style is bright and colourful and does throw hints of a movie type of vibe. The story starts with Newby going to a lunch table, where everybody gets up and leaves. He is wearing Vincent Van Goghs painting, ‘Starry Night’. He has a part in his hair, glasses, and braces and appears to have no friends. When the pretty girl at school tells him to join their table, his social circle changes. In the next scene, he is at the beach with the girl, and a new set of her friends, where everybody is having a great time.
The video ends with Prom, where Newby is revealed to have had a makeover and is the life of the party. He is super confident and more enjoyable thane was before. The video ends with the Prom King and Queen announcements. The Video itself tells a great story, and follows the themes well. This is just one of many more music videos to come from this emerging artist.
