Hoboken, New Jersey Apr 27, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - Following a successful run on the festival circuit with his comedy TV pilot The Cineplex, New Jersey filmmaker Alan Del Tufo has secured private equity financing for his next project, the mob-comedy feature The Don.
The Cineplex earned 14 official selections, 18 nominations, and 4 wins across festivals including SoHo International, Big Apple Film Festival, NYC WebFest, Baltimore WebFest, and LA WebFest. The project’s reception helped generate momentum that led to the financing of The Don and the formation of a new production entity to support the feature.
The Don follows a struggling New Jersey mafia family attempting to stay relevant in a rapidly changing modern world. The film is currently moving into pre-production, with plans to shoot in the New Jersey and New York area. Del Tufo has penned the script and will direct the film.
