PODER, Oregon’s Latino Leadership Network, proudly announces the premiere of "The Living Legacy of Colegio César Chávez" on Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB) starting Thursday, December 12, 2024. This highly anticipated documentary explores the groundbreaking history and enduring influence of the first accredited independent Chicano college in the United States. PODER is at the forefront of efforts to share this pivotal story across Oregon and the nation, paving the way for a reimagined Colegio César Chávez 2.0.

About the Documentary

The Living Legacy of Colegio César Chávez is an inspiring film produced by OPB’s Oregon Experience. The documentary honors the pioneering institution that centered Chicano/Latino voices in higher education, social justice, and community empowerment. It captures the vision and determination of the Colegio’s founders and the profound impact it continues to have on communities today. The film will be accessible online starting December 12, with bilingual captions available in English and Spanish to ensure inclusivity.
