Abdul Nassar hails from the small village Nedungottur of Palakkad district, of Kerala, India and was born in In the year 1996 he passed his bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com.) from SNGS College Pattambiat the top of the college and also as 6th Rank Holder of the University. After obtaining his B.Com he took the professional Indian Chartered Accountancy course.
He qualified for the CA in the May 2000 examination and through the campus interview he has joined a prestigious Fortune 500 company called Indian Oil Corporation.
After serving the company for 6 years, for better career prospects he moved to another company, Cairn Energy, a multinational company of the U.K. Before moving to Qatar in December 2000 and accepting the job offer of the State of Qatar-owned company called Qatar International Petroleum Marketing Company, he also worked in Saudi Arabia for a short period of time for the Saudi government owned company called Saudi Arabia Basis Industries Corporation. Currently he ,is working in a senior finance position with the State of Qatar owned Qatar Petroleum, one of the best national oil companies in the world.
He is also very active in social forums these days. He is a passionate leader and public speaker. He was the past president of Doha Toastmasters Club, won many trophies at Area level public speaking championships and attended many international conventions including ones in Kaula Lumpur, Washington D.C. and Canada.
He has also been awarded the prestigious FALCON Award from Toastmasters.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and also a current board member of Doha Chapter of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. By passion, he is a Kung Fu marshal artist, marathon runner, stair case runner, triathlete, Scuba diver and hiking enthusiast. He did the Mt Everest base camp trek, Qatar, Paris, and Kuwait marathons and also recently competed in the IRONMAN 70.3 race held at Colombo, Sri Lanka. He has been honoured with the Sports Excellence Award 2018 by the Indian Sports Centre under the patronage of the Embassy of India, Doha, Qatar. His other interests and hobbies include drawing portraits and value investments in share markets.
