On February 5th, 2021, the New York Post published an article entitled “Paul McCartney weighs in on JCPenney CEO search.”
At no time prior to the publication of this story did anyone from the New York Post contact me about this upcoming story.
Overall, this story is categorically erroneous, has grossly mischaracterized actual events, and is vastly exaggerated from reality.
It is true that the new owners of JCPENNEY and myself have had many phone calls and emails as well as a Zoom meeting which was set up by the new owners.
In my conversations with the new owners of JCPENNEY, I have offered suggestions, ideas, and a roadmap that could be used to ensure the success of the new retail operation.
At no time have I sent an application or a resume for the position of CEO.
It is my understanding that an interim CEO is in place at this time and it is further my understanding that if there were to be a search for a permanent CEO that it could be weeks or months away.
