Dr. Campbell earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science before obtaining his Medical Degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Duke University Medical Center, where he served as Assistant Chief Resident, followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular disease. In his role at Atrium Health, Dr. Campbell has held numerous leadership positions, including Chairman of the Cardiac Care Committee at NorthEast Medical Center from 1992 to 2003 and Medical Director of Cardiac Care Services from 1994 to 2003. His dedication to advancing cardiac care is evident through his work as Director of the Clinical Research Advisory Committee at Carolinas Medical Center, where he championed innovative clinical research initiatives from 1996 to 2006.

From 2001 to 2007, Dr. Campbell served on the Board of Directors for NorthEast Medical Center Foundation, and from 2003 to 2005, he was a Director on the Board of NorthEast Medical Center. He also chaired the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee at Carolinas Medical Center from 2004 to 2012, overseeing essential medication and therapy protocols. Dr. Campbell further contributed to medical education as Chairman of the Cabarrus College of Health Sciences Advisory Board from 2015 to 2020.

As a triple board-certified physician in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology, Dr. Campbell is a Fellow of both the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions and the American College of Cardiology. His commitment to excellence in patient care, combined with his passion for teaching and leadership, has made a profound impact on the field of cardiology in North Carolina.
