CUMCS-GAP by Control Union is the global leading certificate standard for medical cannabis.
The scope of CUMCS IMC-G.A.P. covers medical cannabis propagation, cultivation, and post-harvest processes. CUMCS IMC-G.A.P. is compliant with both the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines on Good Agricultural & Collection Practices (GACP) for medicinal plants and European Medicines Agency (EMA GACP).
In September 2020, Control Union announced that the standard CUMCS-GAP has been benchmarked against the Israeli Medical Cannabis Standard (“IMC-G.A.P.”), towards full equivalency. Therefore, the CUMCS IMC-G.A.P. is a recognized and accepted program by the Israeli Medical Cannabis Agency – Ministry of Health for imports of medicinal cannabis into Israel.
Achieving CUMCS IMC-G.A.P. is a significant milestone in its product development pipeline, and Econnabis will be the first Latin American company able to export premium medicinal cannabis flowers to Israel and other jurisdictions recognizing this certification.
This achievement comes just a few weeks after Econnabis received its BPA (Good Agricultural Practices) certification from the Presidency of the Republic of Colombia.
As a result of these significant achievements, through Econnabis, Plena is well-positioned to become a leading supplier of premium medical cannabis flower, in compliance with recent legislative amendments permitting the export of medical cannabis flower from Colombia.
