Sydney, New South Wales Aug 20, 2019 (Issuewire.com) - After the astounding success of Exploding Kittens, it was no doubt inevitable that a myriad of copycats would emerge on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. Unstable Unicorns, The Muffin Game, etc. etc.
A new game looks to follow in the footsteps of kittens, but with a different take. Launching on September 1st on Kickstarter is a card game which, arguably, could make your stomach turn.
Cannibal Collective, created by Joe and Rochelle Reynolds of Sydney, looks to turn regular party games on their head with a bloodthirsty twist. The aim of the game is to collect enough body parts to be inducted into a secret society of Cannibals.
However, there are a few rules of the game which don't look conventional and could be contentious. An example, mentioned in the campaign video, is the J'Accuse card which allows players to accuse another player of Cannibalism and then try and steal their body part cards. They play a game of chance such as Rock, Paper, Scissors to determine a winner who then steals the body part cards from the other player.
It's certainly interesting, whether or not it will lead to arguments is yet to be seen. The creators have also made a "Create Your Own Card' feature on CannibalCollective.com where people can submit their own creations using the games designs.
Cannibal Collective launches on September 1st on Kickstarter with a funding goal of $10,000 AUD.
