Los Angeles, California Nov 14, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Award-winning actress Rachelle Henry is co-starring in two of the final episodes of Season Two of “THE MOSQUITO COAST,” based on the popular novel by critically acclaimed author Paul Theroux. The upcoming season is set to begin airing episodes weekly starting on Friday, November 4, 2022.
Henry portrays the role of Annie, a young woman on vacation with her best friend who ends up befriending Dana Fox (played by actor Logan Polish).
“I’m so grateful for this opportunity and absolutely loved working with the amazing cast and crew in Mexico,” Henry said. The actor spent two weeks filming in Tulum, Mexico to film the last two episodes of the season.
“THE MOSQUITO COAST” series stars Justin Theroux, Melissa George, Polish, and Gabriel Bateman as the Fox family. The show is based on the novel by acclaimed writer Paul Theroux and the 1986 film of the same title starring Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, and River Phoenix. The AppleTV+ series is written and created by showrunner Neil Cross who is known for his work on “Luther”, “Crossbones” and “The Sister.”
According to AppleTV+: In season two, after barely escaping Mexico with their lives, the Fox family ventures deep into the Guatemalan jungle to meet up with an old friend and her community of refugees. This new refuge creates trouble for the Foxes though when they become entangled in a conflict between a local drug lord and his family. At odds about whether to settle down or keep moving, Allie and Margot pursue different paths to secure their family’s future. The outcome of this will either unite the family or tear it apart forever.
As an award-winning actress, host, and filmmaker with over a decade of experience in the film industry, Henry works with some of Hollywood’s top stars. She appeared in the STARZ Watergate drama series “Gaslit,” starring Oscar winners Julia Roberts and Sean Penn, and with Kelly Sullivan in the feature film “Martingale.'' Henry is also appearing alongside Christina Applegate in the final season of the popular Netflix series “Dead to Me.''
Henry’s portrayal of a young woman with a similar background to Jen Harding (Applegate) causes a moment of reflection for the protagonist as she navigates a difficult chapter in her life.
The long-awaited series finale, postponed while Applegate adjusted to her real-life battle with MS, promises to be one of the most anticipated shows on streaming television this year. Dead to Me, known for its impactful episodic cliffhangers, features Applegate as a conflicted widow who meets a free-spirited friend (Linda Cardellini). The two navigate the complicated truth that entwines their friendship. Henry considers her interaction with Applegate to be one of her most rewarding acting experiences to date.
