Radio Ready: PlaneEnglish and EAA Partner to Launch Aviation Simulator for K-12 Students

PlaneEnglish and the EAA have partnered to enhance the AeroEducate program for K-12 students with the Aviation Radio Simulator. This platform builds foundational aviation communication skills, preparing future pilots and air traffic controllers.

West Lafayette, Indiana Jul 24, 2024 (Issuewire.com)  - PlaneEnglish Interactive Training Solutions has partnered with the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) to enhance the EAA AeroEducate online education program for K-12 students. As a leading developer in aviation communications learning platforms, PlaneEnglish brings expertise to this innovative collaboration.

PlaneEnglish has developed a new unit for EAA AeroEducate within the PlaneEnglish Aviation Radio Simulator (ARSim). This unit offers 10 progressive, AI-assisted levels of training in aviation radio communications, ranging from beginner to solo pilot. In addition to building up radio communications knowledge and mastery at each level, students can assess their proficiency by completing Stage Checks and earning EAA credits, badges, and printable certificates of achievement.

Even better, says PlaneEnglish's Muharrem Mane, the training provides an excellent foundation for future pilots and air traffic controllers graduating from the AeroEducate program.

“We’re thrilled to be working with EAA to bring our global aviation communications training platform into young students’ homes and classrooms,” Mane said. “Radio communication skills are central to aviation, and building them early can lead to greater success and safety when these young people earn their wings.”

Through the PlaneEnglish AE unit, students can engage in various scenarios to learn about pattern communications; airport markings, signs, and lighting; and more. Those who wish to continue their training beyond AeroEducate--and earn FAA WINGS program credits--can purchase full access to the PlaneEnglish Aviation Radio Simulator (ARSim) with additional VFR and IFR content and a full training curriculum.

EAA launched AeroEducate in 2022 in cooperation with North Carolina State University and in partnership with other companies and organizations around the world. The free resource hub offers unique, interactive activities and other content for youth to inspire them to consider aviation as a hobby, future area of study, or a career. Parents and teachers can access a catalog of educational group activities for home or classroom use.

EAA Director of Education Paul Maloy said the relationship between PlaneEnglish and other content partners will allow the 50,000 students who use AeroEducate to fully explore their passion for aviation. More information about the program may be found at www.AeroEducate.org.

PlaneEnglish’s interactive training solutions are designed to help communications, cockpit familiarization, procedures and flow training.

The PlaneEnglish ARSim is available on the web (at https://arsim.ai) and for iOS and Android on the AppStore and Google Play Store. The app offers a three-day  as well as customization options and licenses for flight schools and other institutions interested in using the simulator in group settings and at the enterprise level.

Headquartered at the Purdue Research Park, PlaneEnglish also offers a companion comms manual, “The Easy Route to Aviation Radio Proficiency: Training Manual with Activities Using ARSim Aviation Radio Simulator”, and ATSim, an app-based simulation comms trainer for air traffic controllers.
