Chennai, Tamil Nadu Jan 8, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - Rajalakshmi Institutions, Chennai organized the first-ever Open House Day on 4th January 2020 in the Rajalakshmi Engineering College campus.
This is an initiative by the Rajalakshmi Institutions to create an awareness among the school students of classes 9 to 12, that higher education in engineering will provide an exciting and rewarding career in the future. The event witnessed a great response from various schools in Chennai, Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur, Chengalpet, Vellore and Ranipet districts. Around 6,000 students accompanied by parents and teachers actively participated and went round the state-of-the-art laboratories of the various departments and witness for themselves the various types of machinery, equipment, and innovative projects carried out by the faculty and students of the college and also had hands-on experience in operating the modern equipment and software tools. There was a short presentation in each department to help the high school students to get an idea of various specializations and current and future trends in technology.
The students also attended the technical talks delivered by eminent experts from various fields including Mr.R.Natarajan, Director, EGS Computers India Pvt Ltd; Lt. Col. Jayakumar, Mr.TamilSelvan Mahalingam, Founder & CEO, Futurecaptains.com, Mr.D. Suresh, Former Director, Computer Access Pvt Ltd & SaksAncillaries Ltd., and Dr.Kannan Grish. Also, they had an opportunity to take part in a psychometric profiling test, during which they identified for themselves which are the best possible careers that would suit them.
Rajalakshmi Engineering College created Tech Junctions, where futuristic technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Augmented Reality, and 3D Printing etc. were showcased to the young minds. The students also attended many workshops, where they themselves did mini projects with the help and guidance of experts.
The Open House Day was inaugurated by Swami Vimrutananda Ji Maharaj, Ramakrishna Math, Chennai. Swamiji exhorted the students to remain focused and become thoroughly knowledgeable in the chosen field of higher education. Earlier, Dr. (Mrs.) Thangam Meganathan, Chairperson, Rajalakshmi Institutions, presiding over the function, said that the institutions are always focused on inspiring young minds and educate them to become successful professionals in their chosen stream.
On this occasion, Mr. M. Abhay Shankar, Vice-Chairman, Rajalakshmi Institutions, stated that such events will go a long way in creating awareness on higher education in young minds. Dr.S.N Murugesan, Principal, Rajalakshmi Engineering College welcomed the gathering and pointed out that ever-growing technology is pervading every walk of human life and students should keen interest in higher studies for their future growth.
