Kannan Vishwanatth was recognized for the prestigious The MalColm Adiseshiah Award for bringing significant research contributions for chemical research used for Development Studies.

Dr. Kannan Vishwanatth (Ph.D.), an accomplished scholar & highly successful visionary business entrepreneur did Bachelor of Petroleum Engineering in the year 1992-1996 from Maharashtra Institute of Technology in Pune in India, followed by Asia-E-University and Indian Institute of Research and Management India Master’s in Business Administration in the year 2008-2009. Dr. Vishwanatth further pursued higher studies from the University of Azteca European Programs and Indian Institute of Research and Management India Doctor of Philosophy in Business Management (2009- 2012).

The notable milestones of Kannan Vishwanatth include Co-Authoring & publishing patents of transversal formulations and Anti-Cancer API’s. Chemical Engineering is a dynamic discipline and it has been evolving continuously since the days of craft innovations of prehistoric times. Chemical engineering has played an important role in the development of the chemical industry, which, in turn, has played a key role in the matters of providing essential human needs such as food, clothing, shelter, etc. to mankind.

Reetika Khera, associate professor of IIT Delhi, and professor Avijit Pathak of the Centre for the Study of Social Systems, School of Social Sciences, have also been selected for the Malcolm Adiseshiah award.

The annual award given by Dr. Malcolm and Elizabeth Adiseshiah Trust is presented to social scientists for their outstanding contributions to society.

The panel has also named V. Kalyan Shankar, associate professor of Symbiosis School of Economics, Pune, for the award given in memory of Elizabeth Adiseshiah to a social scientist below the age of 45 years. The Malcolm Adiseshiah Award & the Elizabeth Adiseshiah Award for distinguished contributions to Development Studies were instituted by Malcolm & Elizabeth Adiseshiah Trust in 2000 and are presented to social scientists for their outstanding contributions to society. The Malcolm Adiseshiah Award was first given to Abhijit V. Banerjee in 2000. Since then, Ram Guha, Pratap Bhanu Mehta, Jayati Ghosh, Nandini Sundar, Amita Baviskar, Yogendra Yadav, among others, have received it. Prof. Khera would receive a citation and prize money of ₹1 lakh. She will be sharing the award with Professor Avijit Pathak of the Centre for the Study of Social Systems, School of Social Sciences.
