kolkata, West bengal Nov 17, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - The Salil Chowdhury Foundation of Music (SCFM), Social Help and Education trust is proud to present a virtual presentation ‘Prantorer Gaan Amar’ on YouTube (https://bit.ly/SALILDA95th) to celebrate the 95th birth anniversary of the legendary composer and poet Salil Chowdhury on 19th of November, 2020.
This special presentation is performed by the Chowdhury family. This year, as we are going through challenging times due to COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to screen a special home video production on YouTube on the 19th November will be launched at 6AM IST (Indian Standard Time) which you can watch anytime after.
Every year, ever since the conception of the Salil Chowdhury Foundation of Music in 2002, we have had either a grand musical event or a screening of his films or a book release or an exhibition of his works to help celebrate his birthday and keep alive his legacy. This year is different, due to the corona pandemic and the lockdown that happened as a consequence.
However, this year is an important year, this year is his 95th birth anniversary! And since we couldn’t get together for a live musical event, we decided to instead make a home video production and celebrate his life with contributions from most of his children and a few surprise contributions.
The recorded event will be presenting songs sung by his daughter singer Antara Chowdhury, she is an expert on Salil Sangeet, his son who is also a composer in his own right Sanjoy Chowdhury and occasionally joined in by Sanchari Chowdhury-Kesler - his youngest daughter.
