Alcudia, Balears Apr 20, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Sami Habib (born December 16, 1995), is a Romanian singer, rapper, songwriter, and record producer. For the past six years having been based in Mallorca (Spain), Sami is considered one of the rising stars of the Balearic pop-trap movement. Alongside his musical career, he also runs a recording studio and record label Passion Fruit Sounds, founded together with his brother Stefan Caragea, known as his stage name Caradja. 2021 saw the release of Habib’s singles ’’Crossroads’’, ’’Take A Break’’, ’’FACTS’’, ’’Cuando’’ (in collaboration with Caradja and AndreeaSfix), and ’’Haos Mare’’, as well as his first beat instrumental ’’LOW END’’. His latest single ’’Funny’’ featuring Profu’, came out in February 2022.
Raised in Galati, a port town in eastern Romania on the Danube river, and interested in musical instruments since being a two-year-old, Sami began his journey into the world of performance at the age of 12, responding to a flyer promoting a canto musical school. With Habib’s idol Smiley (real name Andrei Tiberiu Maria) from the band Simply being a guest judge at the auditions, Sami impressed the teachers and spent one-year learning canto at the school. A few years later he attended’’Dimitrie Cuclin’’ High School of Arts.
Regularly performing at karaoke bars since the age of 15, with his repertoire ranging from Michael Buble and Frank Sinatra, to Justin Timberlake and Tupac Shakur, Sami was eventually offered a chance to become a karaoke MC at the pub ’’Student House’’ in Galati two years later.
In 2014, he was invited to perform as a singer and showman throughout different events at ’’Divino Glam Club’’, while also hosting karaoke nights at ’’Studio Cafe’’. A year later, Habib worked as a club MC at ’’Summer Time’’, ’’Infinity’’ and ’’Planet’’, switching to ’’New York Pub’’
the following year.
In 2016, Sami moved to Mallorca (Spain), the largest of the Balearic Islands located in the Mediterranean to continue to work in the entertainment industry until the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown in Spain in 2020 redirected his focus back to music, with him alongside his brother Stefan Caragea forming a recording studio and a record label on the island, jointly named Passion Fruit Sounds. Currently, Habib is working on new music, with two upcoming songs expected to be heavily influenced by pop reggaeton and drill music.
