Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Feb 24, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - In a significant stride toward strengthening global academic engagement, faculty members and students from Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, recently completed an enriching international visit to Malaysia under the Faculty Abroad Programme (FAP) and Student Abroad Programme (SAP). The initiative was organised by MIT Square, London, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to international exposure, research collaboration, and industry integration. The Malaysia visit was held from 17th February to 23rd February 2026, followed by a research internship lasting until April 2026, to be carried out in India.
The delegation was organised by Dr. Sarasu P (International Relations-SIST), Dr. Senduru Srinivasulu (HoD-CSE), Dr. Sonia Jenifer Rayen (Assoc. Prof), and Dr. Mithileysh Sathiyanarayanan (Scientist & CEO, MIT Square, London), that comprised faculty members Dr. Abinaya K and Dr. Menaka D, along with an enthusiastic cohort of students — Tarun T, Srija Sagayakumar, Vaishnav S, Yadhuvir V, Sam Stevan R, Yaswanth S, Ram Kumar S, Pratheep T, Sujitha S, Joshi T, Vishalbarathi, Leonard Peter, Poowin, Karishma S.K, Jervin Sibi S, Mohamed Aasim, Kavin Barath S P, Joshan Jude, K Chakrapani Reddy, Kaarthick E, Tissina Gold TS, Harris Ronnel TI, and Lokesh G R — who actively participated in the academic, industrial, and scientific engagements throughout the Malaysian visit.
The academic delegation visited leading Malaysian universities, including MAHSA University and the University of Cyberjaya, where they participated in academic discussions, laboratory visits, workshops, and interactive sessions with professors and researchers. Faculty and students explored research collaborations in areas such as artificial intelligence, renewable systems, sustainable infrastructure, biotechnology, healthcare, and digital transformation. They also discussed joint publications, faculty exchange programmes, and doctoral and postdoctoral research opportunities.
The visit strengthened possibilities for international academic and industry partnerships while helping benchmark curricula against global standards. Beyond academics, participants gained exposure to Malaysia’s multicultural environment and innovation-driven development, enhancing their global perspective and cross-cultural understanding.
