Isle of Lewis, Scotland Aug 27, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - Conceptually intriguing and faultless expert musical arranging have culminated in the latest offering by The Broken Ravens. Their latest single ‘Master Of (De)saster’ is a fine example of this band’s united musical effort and intoxicating compositions. The blistering track combines tight guitar work with a solid driving rhythm section and melodic yet aggressive vocals that fuses modern heavy metal with old school punk. ‘Master Of (De)saster’ is filled with a gritty weight and intensity, a perfect example of modern metal music. An ode to a departed biker friend, the song is short, sharp, heavy, hooky and delivered like a kick to the teeth.
Previous single ‘Forsaken’ exudes a different intensity along with an intriguing lyrical approach. Gordon Smith shows his diverse musical range and vocal skills, meandering through a whole soundscape, dancing back and forth from melodic parts, to screams and growls. Intricate guitar work throughout the many changes in dynamics do not fail to impress the listeners and keep them engaged. There are tempo changes, breakdowns, solos and a full on assault to the senses end section, with machine gun fire double bass drums, the band clearly wearing their varied influences on their sleeve. Likewise, ‘Whispers’ has many different parts, expertly crafted and executed with precision and attitude, displaying a multitude of influences that build to a melodic, hook laden crescendo.
Hailing from the Western Isles of Scotland, The Broken Ravens are a five-piece rock band that are making their mark in the industry with nothing but their indomitable spirit for creating something new. Recording, engineering and mixing all their own releases, the band take the D.I.Y ethic to a whole new level. It's easy to hear the influences of bands like Guns n Roses, Black Sabbath, Mastodon, Metallica and many others; The Broken Ravens create a bridge between the past and the present with an inspired and intelligent musical approach.
