Hesse, United States Aug 4, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - Harrisburg residents are invited to join chef Sian Rose and friends to celebrate the official opening of Sian’s Caribbean Kitchen. The kitchen quietly opened a few months ago with a menu that features a variety of freshly prepared authentic and Caribbean-inspired items. Since then, there has been a steady stream of improvements made to the property. A celebration will be held Friday, August 6 from 4 PM to 11 PM to introduce the completed space.
Overlooking historic Market Street, at the edge of downtown Harrisburg sits an inviting 2 level space that features an open-air concept ideal for a casual coffee or a leisurely Sunday brunch. Outdoor features like the putting green and urban garden offer guests a cozy backyard atmosphere to relax and dine in. Chef/ owner Sian Rose says, ‘we are excited to take part in restoring this once vibrant, historic community We pray that SCK will become a neighborhood spot for a casual meet-up, leisurely weekend brunch, or a quick healthy meal on the go.
The menu features freshly made gourmet wraps, meals, baked goodies, Irish moss and Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, and more along with a full-service catering menu. Customer favorites like braised oxtails, jerk chicken, and steamed cabbage appear alongside rotating seasonal options such as callaloo, roast breadfruit, and ackee & saltfish. Popular treats like cornmeal pudding cups, Jamaican beef patties, and toto, an eggless coconut cake are baked fresh in the house.
Besides the food, Rose’s wish in opening this space is to create a space where Caribbean culture can be highlighted and celebrated.
SCK is open for dining Thursday thru Sunday from 11 AM to 7 PM. Brunch is served all day Saturday and Sunday. Pick-up, delivery, and dine-in service are available by reservation 7 days a week.
