The mission of SigmaPAC1914 is to support candidates who are strategically and intentionally focused on solutions to complex public policy. It is crucial to elect judicial candidates with strong voices who will step up to address the issues of our time, such as enhanced gun control/gun rights legislation, improving public education, expanding economic development opportunities for African Americans and communities of color (or particularly historically disadvantaged communities), promoting equality for all, promoting healthcare, improved public transportation, and helping to provide hope for an American dream where all people are on a level playing field.
Under this capacity, we write to express our support for Kevin E. Jones as our candidate for the Durham County District Court Judge. Kevin is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. He was initiated into our fraternity at Vanderbilt University, Alpha Gamma Alpha Chapter, in 1995. He currently serves the Durham County community in the Delta Zeta Sigma graduate chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
We applaud Kevin’s intent to bring “Greater Justice” to the judiciary by focusing on respect, rehabilitation, and redemption. We believe his experience as a 5th-grade classroom teacher, assistant public defender, and solo practitioner provides him with a unique perspective that will foster authentic connections with citizens seeking relief from the courts.
