New York City, New York Mar 7, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - Simone Gordon, better known as, The Black Fairy Godmother is a community organizer/activist in New Jersey for African American and Latino families. Simone is a single mother of a 9-year-old severely autistic son, motivational speaker, full-time nursing student with a 3.6 GPA, special needs advocate, a Domestic Violence Resource Specialist, and works part-time as a waitress. Simone also serves as the Executive Director for the nonprofit organization House 581Inc based in East Orange, NJ.
Simone utilizes social media to rally her online community to provide emergency assistance & funds in crisis ie. acquiring a safe haven for domestic violence victims, sending groceries via instacart or Walmart, providing emergency medical supplies, purchasing baby formula, assisting with low funded tuition, rental assistance, preventing evictions and sourcing household essentials to help families get back on track. She’s even provided dog food.
Simone also regularly provides assistance for special needs schools/centers and support families to achieve their GED. Her proud moment was her inaugural event, The Purple Diamond Awards where she was able to honor fellow Domestic Violence survivors and activists championing the cause including Carol Maraj (Nicki Minaj, mother), Andria Mayberry (Bryshere Gray, mother) Luisa Diaz from Fox 5 and many more, including the LGBT community.
Simone is endorsed by and receives support from many celebrities including acclaimed author Elizabeth Gilbert. Simone’s mission to replace the missing pieces of the puzzle and she is just getting started.
