Sedona, Arizona Dec 22, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - On December 12, 2020, eight founding members convened and signed a Declaration of Formation bringing Sophianic Animism USA: A Gnostic free church (SA USA) into existence. Subsequently, three additional founding members who had been unable to convene on the 12th also signed the Declaration of Formation on the 15th and 16th days of December.
SA USA operates at the national level in the USA, with headquarters in the Verde Valley of Arizona. Currently, members are generally widely-distributed geographically and maintain tangible communications mainly via the Internet and other electronic means. The group anticipates formation of local collegiums (assemblies of congregants, churches) in various communities nationwide in the days to come.
Subsequent to the assembly's formation, its initial CNS (Central Nervous System, or governance body) was installed and began functioning. The CNS continued to meet from time to time during the ten-day period, December 12 – 21, to care for necessary concerns leading up to the public unveiling of SA USA scheduled for December 21, the Winter Solstice.
During the ten-day period December 12-21, the CNS interviewed or auditioned a number of Sophianic animist practitioners who had expressed an interest in membership, engaging in mutual support with others of co-aligned worldview via the collective organic expression that is Sophianic Animism USA. Most (not all) of the candidates for membership had been devotees of Gaia-Sophia, the entelechy of the living earth referred to as the Planetary Animal Mother, for a period of years. All candidates interviewed met the predefined qualifications for membership and were joyfully accepted.
As of December 21, SA USA has fifteen initial members, eleven of whom are founding members, and five CNS members who among them fill the twenty Minister and Deputy Minister positions through which responsibilities within that body are allocated. Three of the initial members who are not members of the CNS are located outside of the USA, in Europe and Australia, as is permitted by church policy.
The public unveiling of SA USA occured on December 21, 2020 and included a press release, announcements on social media and the unveiling of the group's Website, sophianicanimismusa.org, also reachable via sa-usa.org.
Sophianic Animism represents a religious perspective that is based on the only origin myth from ancient tradition, other than the Biblical one, that explains the origin of the human species as a whole; and it is a narrative very different from the Biblical one, that provides an explanation for the current world situation and events and points forward to a better future in a unique way, without promoting a control agenda and absent the psychological manipulation of a fear-based paradigm.
