Boynton Beach, Florida Feb 27, 2020 (Issuewire.com)  - Her goal is 50 states and 62 National Parks. For now, Judi Cinéas, a clinical Social Worker licensed in Florida and New York is taking her practice on the road. Cinéas is preparing for a journey through the 49 land accessible states and the 58 National Parks in them. Why? Well, why not? In her work as a psychotherapist, her books, videos and talks, Cinéas encourages prioritizing self-care and engagement of life-affirming activities. This is a big one for the woman who tells people to stop saving life for later.

According to Cinéas, this journey will likely check off several items on her bucket list, including visiting Alaska, hopefully seeing the Northern Lights, seeing both sides of Niagara Falls, and once she is able to make it to Hawaii, Guam & USVI, seeing all 50 states and visiting every US National Park. One of the most common questions she’s been asked is if she’s not too young to have a bucket list. The message from Cinéas, who will be 42 at the start of her journey, is to stop saving life for later. Tomorrow is something we plan and hope for, she says. Life is something we must live today. “It would be nice to be on that list of Cinéas Centenarians, but I can’t bank on it. There is so much life to live. If I live to be 100, I’m sure I’ll find something to do.”

In April, Cinéas is looking to start making her way to the west coast with her travel trailer, spending at least one night in every state. She will spend more time in the states that have a National Park, allocating an average of 3 days to explore each park. She plans to share her trip through pictures and videos with the hope of promoting self-care and emphasizing the importance of engaging in life-affirming activities. She also hopes to show people that yes, Haitians and Black people, in general, do these things too and encourage more people to take advantage of opportunities to explore our beautiful public spaces.  This journey is expected to last through mid-November when she will return to Florida. Then, she will set her target for Hawaii, Guam and USVI.
