Tumkur, Karnataka Nov 23, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology is one of the premier institutes in Karnataka. It has dedicated itself to the development of students and faculties since its inception in 1979. SSIT is a constituent college of Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education (deemed to be a university under section 3 of the UGC act 1956), Tumkur. It was established with an aim of providing quality higher education on par with international standards.
SSIT partnered with MIT Square London to establish the RAISE Centre of Excellence, marking the development of a partnership dating back to 2021. The CoE focuses on Research, Applications, Innovation, Science & Technology, and Entrepreneurship, which aims to promote international cooperation through academic & industrial collaboration.
The CoE was formally inaugurated on World Youth Skills Day (15th July 2022) by Dr G Parameshwara (Hon’ble Chancellor – SSAHE), Dr Balakrishna P Shetty (Hon’ble Vice Chancellor – SSAHE), Dr M Z Kurian (Registrar – SSAHE), Dr M S Raviprakasha (Principal – SSIT), Dr Vinutha CB, Mr Praveen Kumar C, Mr Praveen M, and Ms Bhuvaneshwari (Co-founder, MIT Square Asia).
As part of the CoE, several webinars and career clinics were conducted. MIT Square offered internships to 100+ students in the area of Web Tech, Data Tech, and Smart Tech. Some of the students from the Electrical Department (Mahaboob, Deepak, Dadapeer, Sainath, Saqlain, Rohan, and Vanashree) were honoured for their extraordinary work on a rural development project.
The CoE also focuses on CSR activities. SSIT in association with MIT Square and Raj Square Charity Foundation organised “Fortune Power Solutions” (recycling of batteries in a sustainable way). Later, SSIT in association with Sri Siddhartha Medical College, MIT Square, and Raj Square Charity Foundation, organised “PINK FIT WALK” (to create awareness of breast cancer). The breast cancer event was led by Dr G N Prabhakar (HoD & Principal – SSMC) and Dr Diviya K Kariappa (Surgical Oncology Consultant – SSMC). The new innovative products and techniques to tackle breast cancer will be launched shortly to support the underprivileged.
Dr Mithileysh Sathiyanarayanan, Founder & CEO at MIT Square London, said, “We are very much excited to establish the RAISE Centre of Excellence as the latest step in a successful, long-term relationship with SSIT.
