San Francisco, California Jan 5, 2023 (Issuewire.com)  - Sushi Corp (formerly Blue Sun Corporation) is pleased to announce the launch of HeartStart® Sushi, a new heart-healthy all natural cholesterol-lowering sushi that is produced from either 'Marine Stewardship Council' certified wild-caught fish stocks not treated with chemicals or from responsible seafood farmed and certified by the 'Aquaculture Stewardship Council' that also was co-founded by World Wildlife Fund and Unilever the owners of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream.

HeartStart Sushi contains the proven medical benefits of cholesterol-lowering Zoebolic® plant sterols. The plant sterols effectively "neutralizes" the "bad" cholesterol contained in raw fish. In a nutshell, the Teriyaki-Sushi marinade contains an appropriate amount of natural "phytosterols" (a natural product purified from vegetable oil). These phytosterols are not absorbed into the bloodstream, but rather mixed with dietary cholesterol in the digestive system, and thereby facilitating cholesterol elimination in the waste. Phytosterols are GRAS-approved for all food use. Children as well as adults benefit from dietary phytosterols since cholesterol problems and coronary heart disease begin in childhood.

"Numerous health authorities and independent researchers have reviewed the data of numerous clinical studies and have concluded that dietary intake of plant sterols are highly effective in lowering LDL cholesterol," said Sushi aficionado; Richard H. Davis, Sushi Corp's President, and CEO, "In consideration of the emerging information on the potential health benefits and possible disease prevention qualities of natural plant sterols, we are confident that the cholesterol-lowering HeartStart Sushi will provide health-conscious consumers with a truly beneficial all-natural heart-healthy sushi, that can help promote good cardiovascular health," said Davis.

Upon review of existing evidence, the FDA concluded that "there is significant scientific agreement that plant sterols/stanols reduce total and LDL cholesterol levels." The FDA authorized a health claim describing the relationship between dietary intake of plant sterols and reduced risk of heart disease. That health claim states that "Foods containing at least 0.65 grams per serving of plant sterol esters, eaten twice a day with meals for a daily total intake of at least 1.3 grams, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease." In a recent study; researchers at the University of California, Davis, gave study subjects 1 gram of plant sterols twice daily for an eight-week period. Subjects included both men and women, with normal and borderline high total cholesterol. Total cholesterol was reduced by approximately 8 percent and LDL-C fell by almost 13 percent. Plant sterols are clinically shown to lower cholesterol as a part of a heart-healthy diet.
