Early Life
Syl Beats was born on 2 November 1997 In Kailashahar, Tripura, India. He was born with name Mohammed
Shahin Choudhury in a Muslim Family. His father Mohammed Siraj Choudhury and mother Jaba Begam
both are Bengali and originally from India. Later on, he adopted his stage name/Personal brand name
as SYL BEATS. He began his musical journey while he was studying in class 9th, according to him
he was a self-taught musician in his early days, he first started his music journey with learning guitar
and later on other instruments as well. He studied at Radha Kishore Institution and later at Swami
Vivekanand Institute of Engineering and Technology (SVIET) an institute affiliate to Maharaja Ranjit
Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU). According to him he "was a good student, pursued
Science stream in PCM category and then pursued B.tech in Mechanical Engineering, but he also cared
more about music. He then continued towards producing music besides polishing his all other skills.
He grew up listening more to Hip Hop music/songs and RnB, Blues music.
Early Career
Beats' music career began by playing guitar at various local stage shows, and many performances with
local music bands, did many roadside music shows with local bands. Later on, he moved to Chandigarh
for his professional studies but then besides his studies he performed with many professional musicians
from Punjab, being selected to act a musician on a famous music video "Oh Kyu Ni Jaan Ske" which
was released in 2016 and got the "Punjabi Music Most romantic Ballad of the year Award". According
to him, he then started thinking more about Producing & Composing music. He started learning
to produce and compose music, he gained very good knowledge about it in a short term of time as
he was very good at technicalities and had very well music knowledge.
Career
After completion of his B.tech, he started a job at the BPO sector as a Technical support executive and
continued music producing part-time, but he didn't like doing a 9-5 job, he decided to leave the
job. He then continued producing and composing music and selling them online as well as offline
through various platforms like Youtube, Beatstars, and many other social sites, besides this he was
experimenting/polishing his videography skills. As he was growing up with these golden skills, he then
moved back to his hometown and started/founded a Hip Hop Music Production named "ARTGREED" with
local rappers. As a career Syl Beats decided to go with Music Production with his homies and grow the
Hip Hop music scene from a small town and inspire many towards music.
