The Celts were forced west, where there remain only six Celtic nations in parts of the United Kingdom, the Isle of Man, Ireland, and Brittany in France.
Galicia in northwestern Spain is the seventh Celtic nation as its Celtic heritage is evident to this day, but the six official nations are determined by the existence of a Celtic language that survived and Galicia has none.
The six remaining Celtic nations are all distinct. Ireland and Scotland are the most widely recognized.
Ernie Hasler started working as an engineering apprentice at the age of 16. He retired as a health and safety advisor after more than a half-century of work on some big jobs, also becoming the first advisor in Scotland to gain the specialist NEBOSH diploma in environmental management. For years, Hasler ran the Plant Tree Save Planet charity, which helped women in poor nations start their own tree nurseries. The charity closed when age and poor health prevented him from properly vetting recipients. In 2016, he funded the planting of 20,400 seedlings through Trees for the Future and continues to do so.
He continues to fund tree planting through Trees for the Future and in total, he has funded the planting of around 100,000 tree and shrub seedlings, he continues to do so, year on year. He has been a voluntary trustee with Emmaus Glasgow for twenty-one year's helping take it from an aspirational concept to a functioning community of up to twenty-seven previously homeless people, Emmaus Glasgow. 75 years of experience has taught him that support people with needs.
