Their first experience of death came just a few years before that in December 1918, when Madi's cousin, Laura, was diagnosed with breast cancer. This made the ultimate death of Madi so much harder to deal with.
After months of hospital care, chemotherapy and prayers, Madi had passed peacefully in her sleep with the entire Mellick Harold family beside her. In 1963, Madi’s death and funeral preparations were underway.
