The Luck of the Irish Takes Over St. Paul on March 17th with 59th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade

Saint Paul, Minnesota Apr 24, 2025 (Issuewire.com)  - The St. Patrick’s Association is thrilled to announce the 59th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade, set to enliven downtown St. Paul on Monday, March 17, 2025, at 12:00 PM. This cherished tradition brings together families, friends, and visitors to celebrate the city’s rich Irish heritage with a vibrant display of music, dance, and community pride.

PARADE ROUTE
The parade will commence at Rice Park (5th St & Market St) and proceed along 5th Street, concluding near Mears Park (5th St & Sibley St). Spectators are encouraged to arrive early to secure prime viewing spots along the route. Parking is recommended in lots and ramps along Kellogg Boulevard and north of 6th St E. Please note that staging areas close at 10:00 AM, with 5th St E and intersecting roads between 6th St E & 4th St E closing at 11:00 AM

PARADE HIGHLIGHTS
Grand Marshal: Leading the parade is Dan Krier, Minnesota's State Fire Marshal and Director of the Office of Pipeline Safety. With a distinguished career in public service and a deep connection to St. Paul, Krier embodies the dedication and community spirit that the parade celebrates.

Celebrity Grand Marshal: Joining the festivities is St. Paul's own Joe Mauer, retired Minnesota Twin’s catcher and first baseman. A six-time All-Star and 2009 AL MVP, Mauer was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2024.

Distinguished Irish Woman: Honored this year is Mikeya Griffin, Executive Director of the Rondo Community Land Trust. Griffin's leadership and commitment to community development have made a significant impact in St. Paul, earning her the St. Brigid Award and title of Distinguished Irish Woman.

Honorary Irish Person: This year's Honorary Irish Person is Dr. Cyrus “McMoodi” Mahmoodi, a venture capitalist and owner of the Double P Ranch. Dr. Mahmoodi embodies the Irish ethos of "Céad míle fáilte"—a hundred thousand welcomes—and brings joy, connection, and a spirited sense of adventure to the community.

Mr. Pat 2025: Todd P. Hurley, President & CEO of the Saint Paul Port Authority, will don the signature green jacket as Mr. Pat. A lifelong resident and dedicated public servant, Hurley has been an active participant in the parade since its inception in 1967.

Miss Shamrock 2025: The newly crowned Queen of Green, Miss Shamrock 2025, will make her debut in the parade, bringing grace and enthusiasm to the celebration. She will be crowned on March 11, 2025, and will serve as an ambassador for the St. Patrick’s Association and St. Paul’s Irish community throughout the year.

FREE POST-PARADE CELEBRATION AT CHS FIELD
After the parade, the public is invited to continue the festivities at CHS Field for some post-parade craic! From 12:30-2:30 pm, enjoy live music, ballpark concessions, and drinks as we keep the Irish spirit alive. This free event is the perfect way to cap off the day’s celebrations with family and friends.
