Here are three questions we asked during our exclusive interview!
Q: What is it like being the first person to essentially be categorized as a celebrity from your area? Being known as the top artist in your genre?
A: "It's exhilarating, to be honest; I love it that I'm the trendsetter. I'm going to ensure Arkansas gets the correct recognition and not being noted as it is. Being known, going out, and signing autographs; That's just wild. It's truly a dream come true."
Q: Do you ever face negativity towards your work? How do you deal with it?
A: "Of course. Not everybody will LOVE what you make; Everybody has their preference, so to each, their own. I have learned to review each negative comment and take it with a grain of sand and actually use the negativity to give me an outsider view on music and improve what was critiqued. So far I've only been getting trolled as far as negativity. Just a couple "This sucks", or whatever."
Q: What's been your high point? And you're low? What keeps you grinding and motivated? Do you ever lose motivation? If so, how do you get it back?
A: "My high point was when my single, 'Safehouse', went Gold on RIAA. It put me on the map; My lowest was when I changed my name over to King Jase. The reason being, I ended up copyrighting my work and got my account taken down on YouTube for not transferring license ownership from Frecklz to King Jase, so the $80,000 bag I was waiting to be paid was forfeited to United Masters. The money motivates me, as well as the future security I'll have for my family. Knowing that my wife, Julie, and future children will never have to worry about anything else again as far as having a roof over their head and things you need money to buy. I lose motivation at least once a week because I have issues in my head I'm dealing with. Mental illness isn't a joke and I'm so thankful that I've been able to control my problems within myself. I lose it also when I have to wait for my money from my music. Sometimes I feel I'm going nowhere when this happens. The fame, fortune, and progress are what keep me at the top."
