Chennai, Tamil Nadu Aug 20, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - Re-live '96 Silver Jubilee Virtual Reunion
Re-live '96, the alumni group of the class of 1996, The TVS School, Madurai (formerly known as TVS Lakshmi Hr. Sec. School) celebrated a prestigious milestone of their 25 years of school completion, on Sunday the 15th Aug 2021, over a virtual reunion via Zoom.
Re-live '96 currently has more than 100 batchmates, well connected through social networks... And the number is still growing as old chums trace back to their alma mater...
Elaborate plans were made to commemorate this grand occasion to be hosted in the school and to invite their former teachers to be a part of the 2-day event and much more. And then the COVID-19 pandemic struck, with people not able to travel. Even when travel became possible, bearing social responsibility in mind, it was decided to avoid gathering in big numbers.
But 2021 happens only once, so does the important milestone. It was then decided that the meet would be done virtually over Zoom, so everyone will be able to catch up from the comfort of their home. When the decision was made, things were put into motion and an organizing team was formed with volunteers. The team went on with zest to plan their prized milestone, despite the challenges.
The online platform comes with its own limitations, even for casual meets.. This being a celebration, plans had to be made keeping the bottlenecks in mind and each decision was tried, tested and fine-tuned before being acknowledged in the agenda.
A tentative plan was made for the evening, with fun events and a lot of chance to relive the old memories. Each part of the agenda included brainstorming sessions to list options, filtering the possible action items from the options, testing the action items through Zoom rehearsals and then finalizing them to the schedule.
Once things were finalized, flyers, posters and video promos were generated and passed across the groups to reach all our batchmates.
In the meantime, old school pictures and testimonials on the occasion were requested from the batchmates and collected. Also, the teachers who taught the batch were reached and requested for their messages and wishes. It was a mutual pleasure for the teachers and the batchmates to replenish contacts over this occasion. The support was outstanding from all sides.
On the D-day, the virtual reunion that ran for about 6 hours continuously, saw an overwhelming number of around 70 participants, who thoroughly enjoyed the nostalgic hits and a time travel back to their beloved school days. The time travel included sharing their fond memories, rekindling gossip, and reliving the warmth of the nostalgic past.
The only wish that everyone had at the end of the day was that the batch gets to meet in person, as early as possible, when the pandemic situation improves. May this wish be fulfilled!
