Seattle, Washington Mar 12, 2024 (Issuewire.com) - Students of the acclaimed arts-enrichment program, Three Dragons Academy, recently embarked on an astronomical journey through their latest project, bringing the wonders of the universe to life through a captivating and educational art installation.
Focused on the theme of astronomy, children ages 5 through 14 in the Seattle, WA (lower Queen Anne) area dived into painting and scaling during a series of engaging solar system learning. The young artists meticulously painted all of the planets, including a selection of dwarf planets, each contributing to a visually striking scale representation of our solar system.
The culmination of their creative efforts resulted in a remarkable region-wide art installation that spans across Seattle and extends into the surrounding areas. The centerpiece of this celestial display is an 18-foot-wide sidewalk painting of the sun, strategically positioned to provide an accurate scale distance for the remaining planets, at the Three Dragons Academy HQ.
These scale-sized images, thoughtfully placed on sidewalks and sandwich boards, form an impressive trail that guides viewers through the vastness of our solar system. Families and art enthusiasts alike are invited to explore this unique outdoor exhibit, enhancing both artistic appreciation and astronomical understanding.
The scaled displays will be open for public viewing now through April 1, 2024, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty of the cosmos right in their own neighborhoods. To enhance the experience, a map and additional information about the installation are readily available on Three Dragons Academy's website.
This ambitious project not only showcases the artistic talents of the program's participants but also serves as an inspiring fusion of art and science. Three Dragons Academy continues to push boundaries in arts education, encouraging creativity, curiosity, and a deeper connection to the world around us.
