London, United Kingdom May 2, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Multi-award-winning film 'Tides' by Alessandro Negrini wins in the Main Category of the Venus Community Awards held in Balat, Fatih/İstanbul in Turkey. Director Alessandro Negrini, globetrotter but resident in Ireland, declared himself
"delighted and happy that this story about a distant river and a distant border is able to speak and translate into the lives of spectators scattered around the world".
Tide, shot in Derry, Northern Ireland, won 18 international awards so far. Negrini's film, defined as 'a reverie on borders and forgotten dreams', won the Special Mention at the New Delhi Film Festival in India and the Best Documentary Award in South Carolina at the Myrtle beach International Film Awards. Previously, Tides was honored in London at the Gold Movie Awards. The director of photography is the well-known Norwegian OddGeir Saether (director of photography in Inland Empire, David Lynch), with whom Alessandro Negrini has already collaborated in the documentary Paradiso, winner of 18 international awards and commissioned by the BBC. The editing is by Stuart Sloan, the original music is by Cris Ciampoli; the voice of the river is by Emma Taylor. Negrini has also won numerous awards with his previous BBC-produced film, Paradiso.
