Over the past 18 months, we have seen Covid decimate tourism and hospitality businesses all around the world, and now as we can start to see a way forward, it's time to reset how we understand and engage with potential visitors.
With this time for reflection, I looked at my story and now share what I discovered from this reflection.
I created many businesses over the past 40 years, some with my dad who retired in 1999. And just three weeks later, he was stung by an ant, called a Jack Jumper, and died.
I felt at the time there should be something more than just living and dying in a person's life. So we funded some research, so no others would die from the sting of the Jack Jumper, and it worked. No others had died since.
Since then I have created many businesses across different sectors like tourism, construction, retail franchising, logistics, aged care, and many more (www.park.com.au). I've been awarded many local, national, and international awards until 2013, I also nearly died with major heart issues.
I had to sell all my assets and start again, I was suicidal, I thought I'd let people down. And I didn't know where to go. At the time, I had two choices, either wallow in my grief or look again at what made me successful and how could continue to help others around the world.
So I decided to do the latter. Looked at the foundations of how I created over $54 million of businesses for myself and another $200 million for others. That was by using relationship networking, understanding all those Tribes around me, what their problems are, and how I could help them.
I described them as Business Tribes as tribal hacking, research and understanding Consumer tribes, Employee, tribe, suppliers, friends and family, and so many others, but also the Tribe of Tribes, those tribes who are influenced by your tribal members directly, and now you can influence him by being a solution provider for your tribes.
I completed an MBA, Masters of Marketing, Masters of Tourism, four postgraduate certificates, and am currently a Ph.D. candidate. I've researched these influences on these network bonds, writing an International Best Selling book with Brian Tracy, along with two others. I've created a course in a membership site to help businesses, organizations, and communities to recognize and develop their tribes around them.
And I found there were three major steps.
The first is understanding who are your tribes, how to engage them and maintain them. They are all around you and much more than just Consumer Tribes.
Secondly, understanding the problems in providing solutions for those problems. Don't just sell what you have in stock or get the highest margin - provide real solutions for their problems and they will return.
And lastly, turbocharging your business to make money from your Tribe of Tribes, increasing sales, increasing yield, and decreasing costs.
This will increase profit in any business, develop an easier management structure, and long-term wealth.
You too can make a choice. Continue the old way working hard and long hours in your business, marginal profit and no clear exit or a proven clear step by step method to help your business profitable and much easier to operate, thereby giving you and your family a better life.
