UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention Announces Launch of Blockchain Powered Medical Data Sharing Platform

Launch of Block-Chain Powered Medical App By MoHAP

Dubai, United Arab Emirates Apr 6, 2023 (Issuewire.com)  - UAE has started using artificial intelligence in its healthcare system, and the first step is introducing a sophisticated medical app powered by blockchain technology.

UAE’s MoHAP (Ministry of Health and Prevention) has launched this blockchain-based platform to develop a super secure database of medical data regarding patient details, doctors, medical centers, and pharmaceutical companies.

This platform is among the steps UAE’s government is taking to completely integrate AI technology into healthcare organizations across the Emirates. It is also one of the primary tactics for the UAE Centennial 2071. Project collaborators are Dubai Healthcare City, the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, and other health authorities in the country.

The Assistant Undersecretary of MoHAP’s Public Health Policy and Licenses Division, Amin Hussein Al Amiri stated in a report: “This cutting-edge platform is part of UAE’s strategy to develop smart AI-backed systems to augment consumer satisfaction across several transactions such as visa applications, license renewals, bill payments, etc.”

With this app, healthcare professionals can access patient data seamlessly; patients can also view information about hospitals, and health procedures, along with doctors’ data with their work experiences and qualifications.

The authorized providers and clinical trial administrators can view patient data such as their treatment history, diagnostics, hospital visits, and health records to allow a seamless patient care process.

Through this project, the United Arab Emirates wants to boost medical tourism in the country by providing information about healthcare systems that give specialized treatment, the success rates of their procedures, ratings, and accreditation statuses.

Another benefit of this portal is that it aids healthcare monitoring authorities in collecting data more effectively to amplify health assessment and monitoring processes. As a consequence, it will boost the level of patient care in the Emirate’s health systems.

Block-Chain powered apps are set to streamline the search for healthcare institutions, along with its technical as well as licensed medical personnel. Mobile apps developed using blockchain technology can aid in booting supply chain transparency, genomic research, rapid medical credentialing and above all it can offer enhanced security for the UAE health sector.
