Vancouver company pivots from luxury limousines to innovative Mobile Medical Solutions

Local custom limousine experts react to changes in tourism industry with new products

Vancouver, British Columbia Jun 11, 2020 (Issuewire.com)  - With the travel and limousine sectors among those hardest-hit by COVID-19, Richmond-based limousine conversion specialists Absolute Styling have pivoted to the health sector, turning a Mercedes Sprinter van into a mobile health research lab for the BC Children’s Hospital Research Unit and the UBC Diabetes Research.

Absolute Styling worked closely with the doctors and researchers at BC Children’s Hospital and UBC on developing the new bespoke design from the ground up. Their Mercedes and Transport Canada-certified experts then built a self-contained testing and research platform which will become a key part of the diabetes research toolbox in British Columbia.

“Nothing brings out the best in people like challenges,” said Lorenzo Armani of Absolute Styling, “and COVID-19 is challenging all of us to adjust to the new reality that we face. Our team jumped at the opportunity to task on this project and apply their expertise to help create a new tool for British Columbia’s health care workers.”

The mobile testing platform allows the researchers to take their services out to patients across the province with equipment including a centrifuge, medical quality freezer for samples, safety floors, and privacy blinds, along with continuous power to run everything.

“We’re thrilled with the new mobile lab,” said Meg Hughes, Network Manager, British Columbia Diabetes Research Network. “Thanks to the talented team at Absolute Styling, we are able to move our health research out of the laboratory and into the community.”

As a Mercedes Benz Certified Master Upfitter and recognized Transport Canada National Safety Mark builder, Absolute Styling is perfectly positioned to build custom Sprinter conversions that are fully certified and insurable for a wide range of professional purposes.

“The Sprinter has become the favourite platform for “vanlife” travellers and luxury transportation,” said Armani. “But it’s also a perfect vehicle for a wide variety of professional health, safety, and administration uses.”

Absolute Styling is also in the process of developing an innovating aluminum framing system for van to RV conversions which will offer greater strength and durability than the current standard of wood framing.
