Chennai, Tamil Nadu Sep 3, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Velammal Institute of Technology, Chennai inaugurated the RAISE Centre of Excellence(CoE) powered by MIT Square, London, to create a sustainable future in the areas of Research, Applications, Innovations, Science & Technology, and Entrepreneurship.
Dr. Mithileysh Sathiyanarayanan, Founder and CEO of MIT Square, London was invited as the chief guest to virtually inaugurate the RAISE CoE. The leader described the significance of RAISE CoE and how it provides several opportunities like internships, job opportunities, abroad studies, abroad exchange programs, and product development support to the students and the faculty members. Ms. Bhuvaneshwari, Co-founder and COO of MIT Square, Asia was invited as the chief guest and the women empowerment leader shared her views about the importance of abroad higher studies, abroad internships, product development, and awareness about Intellectual Property Rights, patents, and startups for faculty and students. As a part of the CoE inauguration, an awareness program on “Recycling Batteries”, was conducted which is a part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) proposed by the United Nations. The inauguration was led by Principal Dr.N.Balaji, Vice Principal Dr.S.Soundararajan, R & D Coordinator Dr.B.Sridevi, all department HoDs, and CoE Coordinators Dr.R.Jothi Chitra, Dr.P.Deivendran, Dr.M.S.Heaven Dani, Dr.J.Nandha Gopal, and Mr.Sundaresan and student coordinators. The CoE will be focussing on Faculty Development Programs, Student Development Programs, Seminars, Webinars, Guest Lectures, Abroad Programs, Patent Filings, Funding Proposals, Startups, Incubations, and CSR Activities. The CoE is driven to shift across multiple disciplines together to support faculty, and students and provide them a platform to reach goals efficiently.
