San Francisco, California Jun 5, 2019 (Issuewire.com) - Tired of buying cheap, uninspiring shirts to celebrate pride, this start-up decided to make the shirts they wanted to wear.
Whoa Daddy founder Evan Weiss explained, “I founded Whoa Daddy after working on an article on gay t-shirts for my men’s style blog Dapper Confidential. I thought we deserved better designs, higher quality t-shirts, and more flirty fun in general. It started as a bit of a joke but then I thought, why not?"
There's a lot of beautiful, serious shirts around real issues and a lot of tacky, just for fun gay shirts but not a lot in the middle. Whoa Daddy aims for somewhere in the middle. Sexy and provocative but also tastefully made.
The real driving force is being able to donate profits to support LGBTQIA+ community organizations. In their mission, they say entrepreneurship should always be a combination of creating something new and giving back to the community. "While I donate money personally, it never feels like enough. Having a business that can do good while also brightening people's day feels like the perfect blend."
The t-shirts are "ridiculously flirty" — suggestive, sexy, and sweet, without ever being completely graphic with slogans such as the best-selling "ex-twink." Printed with love in Los Angeles, the shirts come in pink or black. "The pink was a more aesthetic choice — we didn't realize it would be the most popular color!" It's perfect for pride parades, gay bar or club or regular summertime fun.
